Show the mothers in your life some love and invite them to spend an afternoon with the family in the beautiful formal gardens of the Crane Estate, enjoying a tea party, crafting a beautiful flower crown, and creating precious family memories. When a new movie in a series or a remake comes out, count on us to help you catch up! "Avengers: Endgame" is in theaters April 26th, so the library will be screening "Avengers: Infinity War" (PG-13) starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, and Mark Ruffalo. Run time: 2 hours 29 minutes.
Kids in Grades 6-12 are invited to NPL for babysitter training! Would you like to learn babysitting skills? If you are 11-18 years old come and attend our 4-H Babsitters Course! Participants will come to understand the responsibilities of babysitting and learn the skills needed to become good babysitters. Teens will develop confidence in handling situations they may encounter when babysitting. Upon completion of this course, you will receive a Babysitter’s ID card and a certificate of completion.
Join the effort to protect our endangered right whale. Hear local children’s author Angela Kakabeeke share her new book, Whale Alert!, about the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale. Angela is excited to work with Women Working for Oceans (W2O) and the New England Aquarium in sharing this story. In addition to the reading, there will be educational hands-on activities for children and adults, including whale science kits that reveal the unique characteristics of the right whale and the hazards that they encounter in our blue backyard.
Glen Urquhart School Summer Camp offers half day and full day camp experiences, for eight weeks each summer, on our 23-acre campus in Beverly Farms.
Kids will learn about the winged creatures that inhabit the sanctuary at this vacation week program. Spring is in full swing and all our flying friends are in a frenzy. If it has wings, we'll find it, and learn about the different ways creatures use their wings. Using binoculars, nets, and bug boxes, we'll take an up-close look at birds, dragonflies, butterflies, and other insects that make their homes at the sanctuary.
The Newbury Town Library will be showing Peter Rabbit (Rated PG). Popcorn and water provided. No registration required.
Wildwood is a multidimensional summer program for young people ages 9 to 17 focusing on active exploration of the natural world. Wildwood also offers a special 3-day mini-camp for ages 7-8, and a family camp offering safe, quiet and natural settings for a unique family experience. Owned and operated by Mass Audubon, Wildwood is a place where friendships are formed and respect for the environment is forged. Campers arrive curious about nature and leave committed to the preservation of our natural resources.
