“Aurora Over the Silk Road” is an interactive workshop created and produced by teen siblings Yasmine and Anthony as the culmination of a homeschooling project. The brother-sister duo founded Yasmanth Inc. to take their presentation on tour around the country. This program is included with paid admission to the Children’s Museum and is free for museum members.
Have you ever been to a model rocket launch? There's plenty to learn and a lot to watch! CMASS will hold a Model Rocket Launch at Woodsom Farm Park in Amesbury, MA. The public are welcome. Event sponsored by Central Massachusetts Spacemodeling Society. Please observe Launch Etiquette for safety and enjoyable experience.
Water telescopes are long tubes with glass at the bottom to view things underwater. Fishermen in Norway have used them for centuries to search for herring and cod. We’ll make our own water telescopes, and then head to the beach to try them out by the tidepools. Who knows what we’ll discover!
May is Historic Preservation month and we are celebrating by offering Preservation focused programs throughout the month. May 4th and 14th, join the The Trustees of Reservations with your family for a NEW tour offering of the Stevens-Coolidge House. This hands-on family friendly tour will bring the past to life for you and your child. Stories, photos, and objects allow kids to consider differences and similarities between the past and today. Please note that space is limited and pre-registration is required!
Join us among the flowers to hear a story, make a craft, and explore the gardens with your pre-schoolers and early elementary students. Each week, a new theme will tie together stories with accompanying activities that will enliven imaginations and deepen connections to the natural world.
Come to Rebecca Nurse Homestead to party like it's the 1910s again! In the early 20th century when The Rebecca Nurse Homestead became a Museum they hosted a Gala Day & Garden Party Bazaar, and we are taking you back in time to experience that event.
Kick off summer at Phillips House. Enjoy ice cream from Treadwell’s of Salem, listen to music from the Ukulele Union of Boston, tour the carriage house, and play lawn games in a historic setting.
Come to Rebecca Nurse Homestead for our annual Historic Holidays event. This year's theme is "Christmas Through The Ages". Take a break from Christmas shopping and visit us for a good old-fashioned holiday celebration with reenactors from different time periods. Have a cup of mulled cider while you stroll the property listening to holiday music from across the centuries and warming up by the roaring fire. For a bit of fun, visit the dress up booth or make a pomander at our craft table.
Step back into the 1920s during this season’s monthly Open Houses at The Stevens-Coolidge Place. Curious to see the full house? Join the Trustees for full house tours being offered every half hour from 10am to 2pm on a first come, first serve basis. The last house tour will begin around 1:30. The tours will bring you through the whole house and will lead you in the story of Helen and John Coolidge.
