Join us for our annual Reggae Fest on Saturday, August 16th from 12 - 9 PM at the Newburyport Brewing Co! Big outdoor/indoor event with Food trucks, ice cold beer and hard seltzer and tons of positive vibrations and family fun.
Marine Society Outings are designed for children ages 8-14. Each outing is five hours on the water, 9:00-2:00, usually with a stop at the islands to swim off the boat (swimming is optional). Participants raise and trim the sails, learn knots, steer the boat, and play silly camp games. We accept 16 kids per session. Cost is $85. For Salem residents the cost is just $55, thanks to the Marine Society! In the event of bad weather, Outings may be postponed to the next day, or cancelled, in which case you will receive a refund.
Experience the rich cultural heritage of Salem, Massachusetts at the House of Seven Gables ! All are invited to a vibrant celebration of food, music, traditions, and more. Since its founding, The House of the Seven Gables Settlement Association has been dedicated to helping newly immigrated individuals and their families to thrive in the United States. While the groups arriving in Salem have changed over the years, The Gables’ drive to provide guidance and education has not. We are taking this special day to celebrate the backgrounds and cultures of students in the ESL and Citizenship classes at The House of the Seven Gables and how they have contributed to the growth of such a diverse and colorful city.
Youngsters get a chance to climb and explore the insides of all kinds of big trucks and emergency vehicles. There will be give-a-ways and activities on site for little tikes.
Wrap up Heritage Days with music in the park! S.C.E.N.E Annual Sunset Hang at Salem Willows is an event combining the skills of local vj's, dj's & live electronic musicians. The extravaganza’s purpose is: “to showcase talent right here in Salem, the North Shore & Boston Massachusetts. To give a stage for new music that might otherwise be overlooked by the mainstream." Beverly Homecoming Grand Finale of Fireworks. Enjoy the fireworks by boat, or on your favorite Beverly Beach with your neighbors, friends, and family. Thank you for celebrating Beverly with us this week! We look forward to many more years of “Celebrating Beverly’s spirit”! The fireworks are set off in Mackerel Cove off of Lynch Beach and can be seen all along Mackerel Cove (Dane St. Beach, Independence Park). This event is sponsored by all of you and the Beverly Homecoming Committee.
Join us for the annual Salem Maritime Festival on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Salem Maritime National Historical Park on Derby Street. This event is free and open to the public. Salem Maritime Festival will feature a cardboard boat race, free tours and programs at historic buildings and the Friendship of Salem, food trucks and lawn games.
The Salem Jazz and Soul Festival has always been about bringing great music to the people of Salem, so we are bringing the Salem Jazz and Soul Festival downtown this year with a special one day event at Salem Willows Park. Enjoy live performances, vendors market, educational workshops, and more!
The Salem Ice Scream Bowl is a chance to taste some classic favorite flavors, as well as a few new ones, from the area’s best ice cream shops, and is a great time for children as well as adults. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children, CASH ONLY. Spoons and napkins will be supplied with purchase of a ticket. Tickets are purchased on site on the day of the event.
