The tradition continues in 2024 on Tuesday, July 30th as the Lions Club celebrates the 64th running of the NBPT Lions Yankee Homecoming Race. Imagine a beautiful Summer evening in the seaport town of Newburyport, Massachusetts. Thousands of runners will enjoy our breathtaking 5K & 10 Miles courses along the ocean, through the bustling downtown and charming New England neighborhoods. The NBPT Lions Yankee Homecoming 5K and 10M courses are truly picturesque as they have been for decades.
The Annual Yankee Homecoming parade is a Traditional New England Parade that is sure to please! There will be a variety of entertaining floats and marchers. Yankee Homecoming and the people of Newburyport all come together to watch a parade on the first Sunday in August. The streets lined with families, friends, and visitors have made this parade a long time favorite summer tradition.
The Yankee Homecoming Craft Show (Formerly Market Square Day) features is a juried craft show offering unique, high quality, handmade items from artisans across New England. Enjoy the free entertainment while you shop in historical Newburyport.
On the last weekend of July, artisans and fine craftsfolk from all over New England will show and sell their work on the South Village Green in Ipswich, MA. Olde Ipswich Days is a favorite for all to meet and greet old friends and new, browse the booths and do some early holiday shopping, or make some timely indulgences. The fair features the works of more than 60 artists and crafters. Look for sterling, gold, or beaded jewelry, unusual photography, woodwork, knitted textiles, dried flowers and grapevines, cut or stained glass, tapestry, a variety of pottery, and paintings in all mediums, toys, and handmade soaps, and hot dogs and refreshments.
The Chebacco Lake and Watershed Association will sponsor its annual Fourth of July Boat Parade on at 10am Sunday, July 4th. All boats will meet at Gregory Island Cove on the South Side of Gregory Island (small cove) and proceed around the lake counterclockwise. Prizes will be awarded for Most Patriotic, Most Creative and best costume or costumes.
Rockport, Massachusetts, is known for its spirited Independence Day celebrations, and this Fourth of July will be no exception. The day is packed with exciting events, including the Firemen's Parade, a Legion Band concert, and Rockport's unique grand finale - a spectacular bonfire at Back Beach.

Lynn's Fireworks Display Begins at 9 PM from Red Rock Park. Prior to the Fireworks, there will be a live music perform starting at 7pm. Lynn Shore Drive and Surrounding Streets Will begin at 6PM and remain closed until after the show. Parking restrictions go into effect at 3PM. The best viewing is usually along Lynn Shore Drive and the Humphrey Street area in Swampscott. There will be a concert from 7pm til 9pm in the park.
Gloucester hosts their annual Horribles Parade followed by a concert and fireworks over Gloucester Harbor! The parade will follow its traditional route out Centennial Avenue, left on Western Avenue to Washington Street at Tally’s Corner, right down Washington and left onto Rogers Street, left on Manuel F. Lewis Street, then a left up Main Street and a right up Pleasant Street to Prospect Street, the left on Prospect, right on Railroad Avenue and a right onto Washington Street, finishing with a left onto Centennial Avenue back to Gloucester High School.
