Chalk This Way is Marblehead Festival of the Arts inaugural event highlighting 23 amateur and professional chalk artists who will transform our sidewalks into a captivating one-of-a-kind arts experience. Sidewalk Art will be distributed throughout the main areas of town and where other festival activities are happening. In partnership with Citizens, admission to the MFA—including access to “Hokusai: Inspiration and Influence”—is free for all Massachusetts residents on June 19 in honor of Juneteenth, the oldest nationally observed commemoration of the ending of slavery in the US. Join us for performances, participate in art-making activities, catch a talk, and see “Hear Me Now: The Black Potters of Old Edgefield, South Carolina,” a new exhibition honoring the work and legacy of the enslaved men, women, and children who crafted stoneware storage vessels in Old Edgefield for roughly 50 years before emancipation.

Stroll the gardens during golden hour before settling in for a show by Cold Chocolate.
Ipswich's Independence Day Parade begins Winthrop School, up Manning Street, along High Street to East Street, then turns to follow Water Street along the River to the Ipswich Town Hall. Kids and other participants are invited to show up at 9am to decorate bikes, trikes and wagons, with the parade starting at 10am. At the end of parade, there will be foot races, a bouncy house and other activities at Town Hall.
In Manchester, legion members and parade participants will assemble Monday at 8:30 a.m. at the Amaral-Bailey Post 113 for a brief seaside service. Wreaths and flowers will be dropped into the harbor in remembrance of those lost at sea. The parade then will move on to the Pleasant Grove Cemetery to salute fallen armed-forces personnel and formal Memorial Day Services.
The Boxford Memorial Day ceremonies will begin at Harmony Cemetary and finish up at the James L. Melvin Green. The schedule is as follows:
