Friends of Troop 2 & Troop 6 of the Beverly Boy Scouts is holding the eighth annual electronics recycling event so you can responsibly get rid of your broken, old and unused electronics. Your materials will be taken by a qualified electronics disposal firm. There is a nominal fee for this service, which supports the activities of Beverly’s Boy Scout Troop 2 & Troop 6.

The Kenny Academy of Irish Dance in Beverly will be offering FREE trial classes in honor of Saint Patrick's Day! Come learn a reel and a jig on Tuesday, March 8th or Thursday March 10th and experience a piece of Irish culture with instructors, Irish husband and wife team Michael and Rose Kenny.

Register for North Shore’s 37th Annual Good Friday Walk and help needy families in the North Shore. This year, funds are needed more than ever and any walker who raises at least $20 will be given a commemorative walk t – shirt. The 10.5 mile walk will start at St. John the Evangelist School and proceed to the Baptist Church in Downtown Beverly, then continue on to the Church in the Cove and St. Margaret’s Church in Beverly Farms. Walkers will follow the same route back to St. John’s.

Suzi Shelton is an award-winning NYC singer/songwriter who’s has been making catchy music for more than a decade, performing at the White House and Lincoln Center. Little Miss Ann, a first-generation Filipino-American creates heartfelt songs with unique instrumentation, infectious melodies, and a soulful voice. Join both of them (together again) on one stage for a super fun family show!
On February 28th from 12 to 2:30 pm at Shaws of North Beverly and Stop and Shop on Elliot St., a group of six grade students from Briscoe Middle School will be accepting donations for their shampoo drive. The students are part of a group called Destination Imagination. This is a club that works on team building and problem solving. These students will be competing in a tournament in March and they must complete a community service challenge. This year, the DI group is partnering with Beverly Bootstraps to host a shampoo drive.
Author Jarrett Krosoczka will visit Glen Urquhart School in Beverly on Wednesday, February 24, 2016. Jarrett has been a storyteller since the ripe age of eight, when he wrote his first book, The Owl Who Thought He Was The Best Flyer, about an owl who challenged Hermes to a flying race. Since that rather promising start, Krosoczka has published 18 picture books and graphic novels for children, including the much-loved Lunch Lady series, which is a two-time winner of the Children's Choice Book Award. Krosoczka hosts The Book Report with JJK on Sirius XM's Kids Place Live, a radio show about books aimed at kids 10 and younger. In 2010, he founded the Joseph and Shirley Krosoczka Memorial Youth Scholarships at Worcester Art Museum, to fund classes for young and underprivileged aspiring artists.
