Santa Visits Beverly Harbor
Santa Claus is packing his boat, checking his charts and heading for Beverly and the site of Washington’s Naval Base. The seaborne Santa will arrive by lobster boat at the Ferryway Public Landing by the Veterans Memorial Bridge and the Public pier rain, snow or shine.

The biggest fair in downtown Beverly, First Baptist Church’s day includes wonderful crafters, a bake table and country store, raffle items, a huge Silent Auction, a roomful of white elephants at Grandma’s Attic, both breakfast and a luncheon with chowder, sandwiches, chili and pie, pictures with Santa—and more!

BMPAA Electronic Recycling Event
The Beverly High School Music Department will host its third annual electronic recycling event on Saturday, November 4 from 8 a.m. to noon at the BHS parking lot. For a fee, drop off your old electronics at the BHS parking lot. Recycle your unwanted televisions, air conditioners, appliances, phones, fire extinguishers and much more. Screening and Discussion of ANGST: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety
Angst is a documentary that looks at anxiety, its causes and effects, and what we can do about it. Angst features candid interviews with kids and young adults who suffer, or have suffered, from anxiety, and what they’ve learned about their experiences. The film also includes discussions with mental health experts about the causes of anxiety and its sociological effects, as well as resources and tools that offer hope.
Following the screening, we will host a discussion group led by Waldorf parent and psychotherapist, Matt Stella; and our own Cyber Civics teacher, Dirk Tiede.

Beyond Measure Documentary at Glen Urquhart School
Glen Urquhart School, the independent, K-8 school in Beverly Farms, welcomes the community to a free screening of “Beyond Measure,” the documentary follow-up to the award-winning “Race to Nowhere.” The event will be held at the GUS campus, in the upper school, on Wednesday, October 18th at 7:00 p.m. “Beyond Measure” follows public schools across the country as they take matters into their own hands, innovating from the inside. By spotlighting success stories, “Beyond Measure” shows that it is possible to rise above America’s toxic, and anxiety-provoking, achievement fixation and build a richer, more empowering, and student-centered education culture from the ground up.

YMCA of the North Shore Parent & Child Swim Lessons
In Y swim lessons, participants learn and practice new swimming skills. They feel a sense of achievement from mastering something new that they can enjoy the rest of their lives. In addition, the ability to swim is important for a child’s safety, especially in our North Shore communities where beaches, ponds, pools and boats are all around us. Learning these skills can begin at a very early age, through our Y parent/child swim lessons.
