Waldorf School at Moraine Farm in Beverly, MA is hosting a screening of the film “SCREENAGERS: Growing Up in The Digital Age” at the Waldorf School at Moraine Farm located at 701 Cabot Street in Beverly, MA.
This 68-minute documentary explores the impact of screen technology on children and offers parents proven solutions to help families manage a healthy lifestyle of screen consumption.
“This documentary supports what a Waldorf education has always believed in. That as a community we need to be mindful of how much time our children are spending on screens and the impact those screens have on their emotional and developmental wellbeing," says Erin Milner, Admissions Director at the Waldorf School at Moraine Farm.
Physician and filmmaker, Delaney Ruston decided to make SCREENAGERS when she found herself constantly struggling with her two kids about screen time. Hearing repeatedly how other parents were equally overwhelmed, she realized this is one of the biggest, unexplored parenting issues families are experiencing today.
SCREENAGERS also reveals multiple approaches on how parents and educators can work with kids to help them achieve a healthy amount of screen time.
After the screening, there will be an open discussion period to reflect on the film and share thoughts and takeaways.
Tickets for this film can be purchased online at waldorfmoraine.org/event/screenagers. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Limited seating is available.
Parents of children of all ages and children in middle school and up are encouraged to attend.
