Melody Miles raises funds for kids to pursue their artistic interests in the Hamilton-Wenham School District

The Hamilton-Wenham Friends of the Arts is excited to host the Annual Melody Miles 5k fun run starting from Winthrop Elementary School. Our talented student performers look forward to serenading you as you walk, run, hop, skip, or dance your way along our scenic local race route.

The 5 mile race is also available as a virtual option during the holiday weekend. It is a great way for you to still support the arts AND get a coveted race t-shirt!

WHAT: 5k fun run/walk

WHERE: Winthrop Elementary School (325 Bay Road, Hamilton MA 01982)

WHO: Anyone and everyone! Make it a family affair and put the baby in the stroller and come on down. We have awards for the top three winners in age groups from 1 to 70+.

  • Interested in getting really competitive? We have brought back the option to sign-up with a school team when you register. So if you are a Cutler dad, join the Cutler team. If you teach at Miles River, join the MRMS team. An alum of the district? Dealers choice! After the race closes we will announce which school was able to recruit the most participants.

WHY: To raise funds to support arts education and arts related initiatives in the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District. And to have a great time, listening to great music, with a great community!

Melody Miles raises money to support arts education throughout the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District, including funding of instrument lessons, arts-related programs and field trips, as well as the purchase of instruments and other supplies.  The Musary is proud to work closely with the HW Friends of the Fine Arts.Hamilton-Wenham Friends of the Arts, a 501(c)(3) non-profit community group, raises funds through this unique community road race to support performance, musical, and visual arts education in the Hamilton-Wenham School District.

Winter Family Field Trip: Terrific Animal Tracking

Families will learn about identifying animal tracks at Joppa Flats Education Center in Newburyport Massachusetts!
Mammals such as squirrels, rabbits and deer leave many signs that they are active in winter. Learn how to interpret the tracks and signs or clues of active animals in winter. Stay active and warm with a group challenge about hibernation. Conduct an experiment about snow insulation.
