The North Shore Jazz Project is pleased to present a joint fundraiser with the Maritime Gloucester, on August 4th, 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Gloucester’s beautiful waterfront. There's a free drum workshop at the at the waterfront from 3-4:30.
We will construct a simple sailboat from bark and leaves, and then we will hike to the river to sail our tiny schooners. Using strainers and buckets, we will dip for organisms from the river's edge, look for evidence of beavers, and scan for birds from the observation tower.

We'll hike to Rockery Pond and learn about the building of its famous rock grotto. While we're enjoying flowering shrubs in the beautiful woodland garden, we might get a glimpse of the pond's newest architect, the beaver!
If you're a junior high or high school student interested in nature, this is the program for you! Spend the day birding and paddling the Ipswich River, a great place to observe spring migrants. We will join Drumlin Farm's Becky Gilles and her Peregrine Birders in hopes of getting close looks at herons, hawks, and warblers.
