As backyard birds head south for the winter, let's give them a proper send-off with a fun, free family event that features bird banding demonstrations, interactive games about bird migration, and lots of table-top science. Younger children will enjoy our crafts and games, while older children can get involved in physics and engineering fun! Preregistration is not required. children must be accompanied by an adult. The Newburyport Scarecrow contest is open to the public and free to all! Entries by individuals, families, teams, schools, churches, clubs, organizations, businesses are all welcome. The goal of this contest is to create a gallery of fun, inventive scarecrows throughout Market Square. This contest is part of Newburyport's Fall Harvest Festival 2019, and entries are expected to be on display until the festival is over!
