EurekaFest 2018 - Cambridge

Join us for EurekaFest 2018 to see the working prototypes developed by high school and college students who are solving real-world problems through invention. High school students from across the country who participated in InvenTeams will discuss how they moved through challenges and built an invention during their school year. The top collegiate inventors who won the coveted 2018 Lemelson-MIT Student Prize will be showcasing their inventions alongside high school InvenTeams.

Museum of Science Space: An Out-of-Gravity Experience

Space: An Out-of-Gravity Experience, the Museumof Science newest temporary exhibition, takes you as close to space as you can get without leaving Earth! This hands-on, climb-aboard cosmic adventure of science fun and learning invites explorers of all ages to understand the rewards and challenges of working in such a harsh environment—from operating a robotic arm to managing a limited power supply to discovering why working in a space glove is so difficult.

Exploring Science Together: Minerals!

Kids and families are invited to learn about minerals at the Harvard Museum of Natural History.

What makes a mineral a mineral? Find out in this hands-on and interactive program. Be a geologist for the day and learn how to identify minerals. Discover the secret properties that make some minerals truly unique. Participate in gallery explorations of our mesmerizing mineral collections. Investigate the different uses of minerals and even create your own mineral pigment artwork to take home! All activities are designed to be a fun and interactive experience for elementary age students and their families to participate in together.

Game Design Week at HMNH

Kids wilol desing a digital game during April Vacation that encourages museum visitor to tour the Harvard Museum of Natural History.

Have you ever wanted to design your own game? Join Green Door Labs founder Kellian Adams and museum staff to plan and create a digital game set inside the museum. You will work in small groups to invent a game designed to help visitors explore the museum. After prototyping the concept on paper, you will build the game on the digital platform and test it with real museum visitors. The best games have the opportunity to be featured in the museum.
