Navy Band Northeast ensembles perform over 300 engagements annually, personifying the quality and professionalism of today’s Navy and instilling pride and patriotism during each and every performance.  One of Navy Band Northeast’s primary responsibilities involves touring their 11 state area of responsivities allowing the band to reach out to audiences in areas that do not have opportunities to see the Navy’s musical ensembles on a regular basis.  The concerts are family-friendly events meant to be entertaining to veterans, families, individuals and those interested in joining the Navy

Waterfront Concert: Chris Plante

Chris Plante plays the Waterfront Concert Series at the Newburyport Yankee Festival!

Chris Plante is a Newburyport native who spent his early career as lead singer and writer of popular nationally touring act, The Brew. Career highlights have included having a hit in the Top 100 AAA Radio Charts with his song “When Darkness Comes” and sharing the stage with The Allman Brothers, Michael McDonald, Bruce Hornsby, The Black Keys and many others. Since stepping away from The Brew in 2013, Chris continues to grow musically, developing a body of up-tempo and groove-oriented songs that extend his indie pop sensibilities into fresh lyrical and melodic terrain. Today he leads a six-piece band featuring Kelly Kane, The Brew’s original drummer, co-producer Alex Sandman, Trumpeter Steve Faria and top-level talent from Berklee College of Music including multi-instrumentalist Daniel Alvarez De Toledo and British guitarist Elliott Marchent. Chris Plante is an officially endorsed Yamaha Contemporary Pianist. He is currently in the studio working towards the release of a new full-length album.

Alastair Moock brings folk music for kids to the Hamilton Wenham Public Library

Bring the whole family for an evening with one of Boston's  premier folk artists. Families of all ages are welcome. No registration necessary, free and open to the public.

Nearly twenty years into his performing career, 2014 Grammy-nominated musician Alastair Moock has managed to carve out a unique niche for himself: He is a songwriter committed to celebrating the roots of American music while knocking down the walls between different audiences, genres and musical traditions. Today, his audiences range from adults all the way down to preschoolers, and he plays everything from nightclubs to theaters to schoolrooms. Like his boyhood hero, Woody Guthrie, Moock believes in the power of music to reach all people — young and old, far and wide, for all occasions.
