Newburyport Yankee Homecoming

Sláinte is a group of 9 friends and musicians, specializing in upbeat Irish folk music. Formed in a dorm room at Boston College, Sláinte has been entertaining crowds throughout New England since 2012, and New York/New Jersey since 2017. We play most shows as a trio, but can front a larger lineup (including drums!) when space allows. With upbeat sets featuring a wide range of tunes from Irish classics to Dropkick Murphys covers, and everything in between, Sláinte always brings the craic!

The Annual Newburyport Kitchen Tour features sensational kitchens in a variety of period style homes in this historic riverside coastal community.  Each kitchen has been selected to showcase the fine work of the best designers, contractors and vendors Newburyport has to offer. 

Newburyport Yankee Homecoming welcomes the band Rage 'N' Age to the opening Water Front Concert for Newbuyrport Yankee Homecoming 2017. Rage ‘N’ Age is a New Hampshire and Massachusetts based band that has been together for 18 years. With David on drums, Peter on bass, Bob on guitar, Gary on keyboard, and everyone on vocals, RNA performs songs from the Fifties to today. Vocal harmonies and audience participation are what sets this band apart from many other groups, leaving a lasting impression everywhere they play.  Their venues include the Hampton Beach Seashell, Capones, The Fireside, Maddie’s of Saugus as well as too many weddings and private parties to mention. Chris Plante is a Newburyport native who spent his early career as lead singer and writer of popular nationally touring act, The Brew. Career highlights have included having a hit in the Top 100 AAA Radio Charts with his song “When Darkness Comes” and sharing the stage with The Allman Brothers, Michael McDonald, Bruce Hornsby, The Black Keys and many others. Since stepping away from The Brew in 2013, Chris continues to grow musically, developing a body of up-tempo and groove-oriented songs that extend his indie pop sensibilities into fresh lyrical and melodic terrain. Today he leads a six-piece band featuring Kelly Kane, The Brew’s original drummer, co-producer Alex Sandman, Trumpeter Steve Faria and top-level talent from Berklee College of Music including multi-instrumentalist Daniel Alvarez De Toledo and British guitarist Elliott Marchent. Chris Plante is an officially endorsed Yamaha Contemporary Pianist. He is currently in the studio working towards the release of a new full-length album.
