In 1947, a goatherd wandered into one of the many hidden caves along the banks of the Dead Sea — and concealed inside were ancient scrolls that had not been seen in 2,000 years. These Dead Sea Scrolls include literary writings of the times and the oldest known texts of the Bible, making their discovery perhaps the most significant archeological find of the last century.

September's 2013's Second Friday will focus on the "Mending Boston" memorial collage quilt - a collaborative project that is intended to encourage communication about the Boston Marathon Bombings and to open channels of healing.

Come to Castle Wenham in the Family Discovery Gallery this summer to learn about Lords and Ladies, knights and maidens, and all the hardworking peasants who made up the busy community of a medieval castle.

"Pajamas of My Dreams” is a beautifully illustrated book that combines the hopefulness and high aspirations of children with a mission of providing warm pajamas for all.
After a reading by the author, Laurie Collins, children will enjoy a color and collage Dream activity with the book’s author and illustrator, Margie Florini.
Guests are invited to bring a new pair of pajamas to donate to Cradles to Crayons; an organization that distributes clothing and school supplies to local children.
All ages welcome.

This fun and engaging exhibit explores the world of pop-up books through an amazing array of pop-ups on display as well as hands-on opportunities for you to make your own pop-ups, be a character in a giant interactive pop-up book, and an exploration of the history and mechanics of pop-up creations.
