Family Bingo and Movie Night

Come cool off with an air conditioned BINGO and a movie at the Ipswich Library!

Come cool off at Ipswich Public Library with family and friends! Enjoy Family Movie Night at the library!  The movie begins at 6 p.m. and ends before 8 p.m., when the library closes.Children are encouraged to bring friends! Youngsters 8 and older may attend independently. Younger children must be accompanied by a caregiver. Movies are chosen to appeal to children ages 8 and up, so parents should determine if the movie is appropriate for younger children.

Museum of Science presents Science Magic

Science Magic presented by Museum of Science at Danver Public Library!

In this fun program, kids will explore how magic tricks really work. This program investigates the science behind the “magic” of several classic magic tricks. You might learn how to snatch a tablecloth without disturbing the items on top, make a balloon fireproof, and use electromagnetism to defy gravity. For the grand finale, our educator demonstrates how science can make it safe to lie down on a real bed of nails.

Historic Ice House Tours with SFL

Tour Cape Pond Ice and chill with the coolest guys in town! Gloucester Massachusetts and Sawyer Free Library

Chill with the coolest guys in town in the heat of Summer! Enjoy a cool visit to Cape Pond Ice Company, icing Gloucester's fleet since 1848. We were featured in Sebastian Junger's account of The Perfect Storm. This tour highlights the history of the ice industry, with vintage film of natural ice harvests. See first hand 300-pound block ice being made (up to 350 tons per day), fishing vessels taking on ice and ice sculptures being carved in the historic icehouse on Gloucester's working waterfront. Wear warm clothing and shoes!  Signup with the library!

Newburyport Public Library invites tweens and teens to stop by the library and make “sushi” – made with rice cereal treats and different candies. Can people use science to replicate superpowers? Can we see through solid objects, talk to each other with just our minds, become invisible? And how about flying like either Superman or Iron Man? We will take a hard look at our favorite superpowers, separate myth from what might be possible and create our own superheroes.
