Come together at Endicott College for the North Shore Walk to Defeat ALS on Sunday, October 17th! This year's walk will feature something new to enjoy: a Halloween theme! Dust off your witch hats and pumpkin pails, we'll have everything from trick or treating and costume contests to festive games and activities! There will be something for everyone in the family.
Head over to the Essex Shipbuilding Museum Shipyard. Fill your empty bags and baskets with veggies, eggs, flowers, crafts and other goodies. Grab a quick dinner from the Shipyard Grille and enjoy the evening by the water.
The goal of this race is not to achieve the fastest time, it's survival! Runners will follow the designated course while encountering a terrifying array of the finest Zombies Salem has to offer! Runners will be wearing a flag belt, similar to the ones worn in flag football. The zombies will try to grab the flags off the belt, which ‘kills’ the runner. Once a runner looses all three of their flags, they are ‘dead’. Dead runners will still finish the course and will receive a medal, and anyone who has any flags left after they finish are ‘alive’ and will receive a medal with a “survivor” ribbon attached.

Run, swim and bike a YMCA sponsored triathlon at Crane Beach in Ipswich Massachusetts! The course is a ½ mile ocean swim followed by a 2 mile beach run consisting of varied terrrain (sand, rocks, grass, pavement, and trails) and a 9 mile bike ride finishing back at Crane Beach.
Come to the Gloucester High School Field House as the Boston Red Sox Trophy Tour stops on Cape Ann! This event is open to the public and it gives peopel a chance to see the World Series trophy up close, and a chance to have their photo taken with the 2013 Championship trophy!
The Manchester Public Library welcomes guest reader, Dr. Dorothy Ganick to Preschool Story Time! Children can ask the Dr. any questions, try out her stethoscope and more, listen to stories such as Doctors ABC and have a relaxed time with a Dr. that does not involve getting a shot! Our cheese making classes are back! Join Appleton’s own award-winning cheese maker, Kristian Holbrook, for a hands-on cheese making class in our farm kitchen. You’ll learn all the basics of cheese making, make your own mozzarella and ricotta to take home, and get a behind-the-scenes tour of our dairy operation and cheese cave. Pre-registration required.
Join Appleton Farms for a kids in the kitchen session for preschoolers and try out some delicious kid-friendly recipes with ingredients right from the farm! Each week we’ll practice our cooking skills and make something tasty together. While our creations bake, cool or simmer we’ll pass the time with a fun farm craft. Recipes will include: Bread & Butter, No-Bake Granola Bars, Farm Frittata, and Home Made Apple Sauce. Please pre-register. Fee covers one adult and child. Younger siblings are welcome with an additional fee of $24/$30 for member/nonmembers.
