Come join us for a day of activities and crafts for adults and kids to get you through the long winter, including star carving, log splitting, ditty bag kits, knitting, and a holiday shop! We will be celebrating the solstice in the Waterline Center with warm drinks and baked goods. Activities range from $2 to $20 each and come with a kit for you to do by the fire this winter!

Join this fun New Year's Resolution Scavenger Hunt at the Stevens-Coolidge place in North Andover

Stop by The Stevens-Coolidge Place from Monday, December 30 to Sunday, January 12 to get a jump start on those 2020 resolutions! Just inside the white gate at the front door of the the house, you’ll find a scavenger hunt list on the brick patio to get you started exploring all that 2020 has to offer. On the sheet, you’ll find a list of 15 common resolutions, turned into a call to action that will take you through the property. Borrow one and find what’s in store for you in the new year! This activity is suitable for all ages and is best completed in groups of 2 or more. Get outside and explore this winter!

Beat those winter blues and make the most of February vacation by getting outside! Every afternoon February 16-22, join us for winter fun for all ages at the Crane Estate from noon-4pm (we recommend you arrive by 3pm). Check in at the front desk in the main gallery of the house then plan your adventure! Roast s'mores around an outdoor fire pit, go on a winter scavenger hike, do an outdoor activity (see below), or cozy up inside with daily story time and a seasonal craft.

Spring is a time of renewal and excitement at Appleton Farms! Join us to celebrate, explore, and engage with our animals and gardens as you “hop” along the farmyard to different interactive learning stations. From planting seeds into soil pots, transplanting seedlings into the ground, feeding our Angora bunnies, felting small eggs, and brushing the goats, your child will be immersed in the Springtime activities of the farm. Collect an egg stamp at each station and take your fully-stamped Trail Hop “passport” to the Farmhouse Cafe to collect your special treat!

Meet the Lambs & Farm Visit

Meet the Lambs and Farm Tour at Goat to Go in Georgetown Massachusetts

Goats to Go's Annual Special Lamb Event: Meet the Lambs & Farm Visit. This 1-hour event involves a farm visit with meet and greet of the Katahdin sheep and the new lambs, as well as the other animals such as Llama and our Fainting Goats. Please note these may not involve cuddling or holding the lambs but we will do our best to get one for you to hold. We will have you outside the enclosure and along the fence line. Some areas in the barn we will not be able to social distance, so please plan accordingly and bring a mask/face covering as you feel necessary. Please arrive at least 30 mins before the end of the event session time. Advanced Online Registration is required.

Peabody Institute Library in Danvers Massachusetts host a great session about animal skull identification for kids!!

Endicott Park's Erika Moretti presents a fascinating Animal Skull Identification program for kids! Budding scientists and nature lovers will really enjoy this presentation! Kids will get to see and touch real skulls from animals and will learn how to identify the animal based off the size and shape of the skull and certain key features. The skulls are all native mammals, but they'll see a bird and reptile skull for comparison. The lesson is very interactive, with lots of audience participation!

Join Chef Liz Walkowicz in this lively, hands-on cooking class in the Kitchen at the Trustees of Reservations' Appleton Farms in Ipswich Massachusetts.

Join chef Liz Walcowicz in this lively, hands-on cooking class. Participants will learn how to utilize root vegetables from the farm and other local farmers to create an exciting multi-course meal. The menu changes seasonally and each class will provide an opportunity for participants to increase their comfort in the kitchen through new knife skills, techniques and flavor profiles. There will be equal parts cooking and eating, and class ends with a shared meal, so bring your appetite!
