It seems like every time I turn around these days, there is a gadget, toy or instrument that needs some kind of battery. If your child is like 'B', I'm sure you're familiar with the routine of constantly changing batteries on items that are used daily, or are accidentally left on. Over time, constantly replacing disposable alkaline batteries adds up in terms of actual cost to you and harm to the environment.

In the simplest terms, upcycling is the practice of taking something that is thrown away and repurposing it into something of greater utilization and intrinsic worth in its second life, which is what LOOPTWORKS is all about.
For the first time in a few years I checked out Tecnorati in search of more information resources for a story I am in the midst of writing. I used this site a lot a few years ago when my life was a more technology oriented, and was surprised at the changes they have made and how much they have grown beyond their beginings as a purely tech-oriented site.
Geocaching is a free, fun, high-tech treasure hunt, where players use a handheld GPS and coordinates to find the cache or treasure. Our cousin introduced us to the game this past spring and it is really fun. Plus, it is free to start and it is an activity your entire family can enjoy together. The north shore lends itself to many fabulous Geocaching locations with over one million caches stashed all around the world – many here on the north shore. I very much enjoy and recommend it so join in and let the hunt begin!
