Join Sawyer Free Library and Backyard Growers for pumpkin decorating! Join us to hear some pumpkin stories & decorate a pumpkin! All supplies and pumpkins will be provided. Best suited for school aged children ages 4 and up. Registration required. Please register each child individually. This event will be held at Backyard Growers (107 Rear Maplewood Avenue.)
Come to Flint Library for pumpkin painting fun! Join our Children's Programming Librarian, Miss Jackie, in Meeting Rooms A+B to choose a pumpkin, paint it, and take it home. Acrylic paint will be used for this activity and does stain clothes. Please dress accordingly. For Ages 8-12.
Join Miss Audrey for a pumpkin themed storytime and craft on October 28th at 2 pm. We will share fun stories and make a beaded pumpkin that can be displayed all fall long! This program is best for ages four and up.
The Young Gloucester Scientist's Club meets frequently in and around Cape Ann to explore scientific subjects through experiential learning when possible. Hosted by the Sawyer Free Library the club is designed to nurture interest in science in a group setting. Late August's session is a day outing to the Burnham Field Community Garden.

The Sawyer Free Library is hosting an exciting LEGO community event in advance of the 2025 Sawyer Free Library's upcoming groundbreaking celebration. LET'S BUILD TOGETHER: 2025 Sawyer Free Library will take place on Saturday, September 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 20 Main Street in downtown Gloucester, directly across from the Sawyer Free Library temporary location.
STEAM story time for children ages 6-10 incorporates science concepts with stories and activities. This month, join us to dig into what fossils are and how they are found! We will use tools like shovels, paint brushes, and tweezers to excavate our own dig sites. Be ready for a dino-mite story time!
