Join us for an easy midmorning stroll through the cool back woods of the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary. Our short walk will start among towering groves of white pine, where we will search for toads and salamanders. The trail will lead us to a wildflower-filled field rich with dragonflies and butterflies. A few steps later, we will encounter an old wooden bridge that spans the Ipswich River, where we will stop for a snack and look for ducks, geese, and maybe a snapping turtle!

The members are highly talented musicians who bring to each concert the skill and knowledge gained from years of study and performing experience - a great show! This exceptional performing unit delivers programs chosen to highlight the diversity of America’s musical & cultural heritage.
Work hand in hand with our dairy farmers to learn how our herd of Jersey cows turn grass and hay into delicious farm-fresh milk. Through hands-on activities kids will learn how milk is made into other dairy products such as cheese, butter, and ice cream. Ages 7–12.
This week we learn about butterflies, how to catch them and what they eat! We'll will focus on the importance of a sense of place as we explore the ecology, sights, and sounds of our natural landscape. Wildlife, local and migrating birds, collecting techniques, and environmental awareness will be presented in a fun, energetic format that adults and children alike will enjoy.
We will construct a simple sailboat from bark and leaves, and then we will hike to the river to sail our tiny schooners. Using strainers and buckets, we will dip for organisms from the river's edge, look for evidence of beavers, and scan for birds from the observation tower.
Where are the Wild Things? At Newburyport Public Library! Listen to the classic story "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak and then enjoy the wild rumpus! We will make a craft and play some games at this exciting party. Ages 3 - 6. Sign up in person or by phone beginning Monday, June 11.
