Meet the Cat in the Hat as part of the Books Alive! literacy initiative, generously sponsored by Irving Oil. Museum staff will read Cat in the Hat tales and kids can enjoy hands-on crafts, games and reading activities. The costumed Cat character will make frequent appearances for hugs and high-fives.
The Manchester Public Library welcomes guest reader, Dr. Dorothy Ganick to Preschool Story Time! Children can ask the Dr. any questions, try out her stethoscope and more, listen to stories such as Doctors ABC and have a relaxed time with a Dr. that does not involve getting a shot! Children ages 4-kindergarten are invited to join story time to listen to age-appropriate stories, participate in creative activities, and crafts. Children attend independently. No registration is required.
Children ages 2-4 and their caregivers are invited to join story time to listen to stories, sing songs, engage in large motor skill activities, and to make a simple craft. This story time involves the enthusiastic participation of all adults accompanying children, so tune up your voice and come prepared to have fun! No registration is required.
Bring your toddler to enjoy story time and looking activities in the galleries, followed by art making. Tours leave on a rolling basis starting at 10:15 am. The last tour leaves at 10:55 am. Each month focuses on a specific theme, join us in October for “Fall on the Farm.” Recommended for children ages 4 and younger with adults. No registration required.

Gloucester Stage Company invites kids ages 2 and up to Playtime Stories. Playtime Stories offers young children the unique opportunity to experience the fun and magic of live theatre as they watch their favorite books come to life onstage. Following the performance audience members will be invited to join the Playtime Stories Company in fun and interactive workshops relating to the story.
