Do you need a free and fun place to bring the kids over April Vacation? Families are invited to explore “Revolution of the Eye” through hands-on activities inspired by television shows featured in the exhibition and by stepping in front of the camera for a chance to be on TV. All ages are welcome; children must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Drop in for a fun-filled morning of archaeology activities at theThe Robert S. Peabody Museum . Build a LEGO model of your favorite ancient ruin, examine stone tools close up, play Native American musical instruments, and make your own Hohokam style etched shell.

Homeschool Workshop: Ipswich & the China Trade

Join the Ipswich Museum for a hands-on workshop on the 19th century China trade. Through museum collections, children will learn about the Augustine Heard & Co. (Heard lived in the house now part of the Ipswich Museum) and the production of porcelain in China during this time. Participants will also get to practice producing painted "china" together in a group activity.

Homeschool Workshops are open to all kids ages 6-12. We meet on the last Monday of each month from 10am-noon. The cost is $5/child to explore hands-on history at the Ipswich Museum!

Have you ever wondered whether any of those blocks exist in the real world? Get out of the house and explore some of the REAL rocks and minerals that appear in Minecraft at the Harvard Museum of Natural History. Pick up a gallery exploration card in the Earth & Planetary Sciences Gallery, read about the Minecraft minerals, and compare to actual samples on display. Come find gold without digging 32 layers down a digital mine!

Tour this historic landmark, one of Gloucester's firts grand homes featuring the beautiful craftsmanship, architecture and style of an era long gone by. You'll also hear a bit of the inspiring story of the original owner, women's rights advocate Judith Sargent Murray (1751-1820).

Ipswich Museum invites kids and their families to a Gingerbread House Workshop!  The holidays wouldn’t be complete without a gingerbread house! Our hands-on, no-baking family class will supply each adult and child with all the materials needed to build your own candy decorated gingerbread house.  All ages!  We suggest adult assistance for children under 8.  Cost: $45 per family (this includes everything you need to go home with a completely decorated house).
