Spider-Sense! A Scavenger Hunt

Kids can celebrate Spiders at the Harvard Museum of Natural History.

The amazing Spider-Man has his own spider-sense, and now you can test yours! Get ready for the opening of The Amazing Spider-Man movie by taking on the Spider-Sense! Scavenger Hunt. Delve into the amazing world of spiders and spider-like animals from around the globe by picking up a Spider-Sense! guide and map at the museum front desk.

Family Painting Workshop at the Ipswich Museum

'Ipswich Women in the Arts' is the focus of this family art workshop at the Ipsw

Ipswich Museum Educator, Stacey Fraser-deHaan, hosts a family workshop complementing the summer exhibit, “Ipswich Women in the Arts".   Participants will tour the Heard House and learn about its last resident, Alice “Elsie” Heard and her artwork.  Then, workshop participants will attempt to copy works from the exhibit, just as Elsie and other female artists of the 19th and 20th century copied the works of famous painters.

On Sunday, May 27, the Museum of Science, Boston will present Lost Egypt: Ancient Secrets, Modern Science, a new, temporary exhibit that will provide visitors with an immersive quest for knowledge that reveals how archeologists use modern science and technology to uncover and understand the ancient civilization of Egypt. Through hands-on challenges, authentic artifacts, and guidance from real archeologists, visitors will unearth the mysteries of Egypt, its culture and its people.

Rockets: There and Back Again

Kids will learn about rocketry and payload return at the Ipswich Library.

In this Museum of Science workshop hosted at the Ipswich Public Library, kids will learn about rocketry and payload science by doing. Attendees will engineer their own air rocket that will be launched across the room and design a payload return system that results in a safe return to Earth. Kids will use their imagination to plan, build, test and implement their designs.
