Monarch Butterfly Banding at IRWS

Help Mass Audubon tag monarch butterflies at Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary!

Cindy Dunn has been tagging monarchs at Wachusett Meadow Wildlife Sanctuary in Princeton for many years. Join her for an afternoon of tagging monarchs on the sanctuary. Learn about the fascinating life history of these butterflies and find out how you can help monarchs in your own backyard.

Fun in the Field at IRWS

Explore the fields at Mass Audubon's Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary!

As the weather warms, our fields become alive with activity. Spend an early June afternoon chasing butterflies, grasshoppers, and crickets with nets while taking some time to closely observe these amazing insects. We may also encounter some predators of the field, such as leopard frogs and garter snakes! This will be a hands-on experience the entire family can enjoy.
