Annettes Climb to support HAWC NorthShore MA

“Annette’s Climb” is an annual fundraising hike in the name of Annette Soares, a victim of domestic violence, who lost her life ten years ago at the age of thirty-nine. The hike is a metaphor for the struggle and climb Annette, like all victims, endured through abuse. The event and hike are opportunities to build community while raising awareness of the personal and economic destruction that result from domestic violence. Annette’s brother, John Soares, began “Annette’s Climb”.

This will be the fourth year of an extraordinarily successful North Shore YMCA service-learning trip to help rebuild the Katrina-ravaged City. Brookwood School is proud to host its fourth PMC Kids Ride. We hope to hit the $15,000 mark with funds raised by kids in Manchester, Massachusetts and the twenty-six surrounding communities represented by riders in past years. Many kids, many bikes, one mission: cure cancer. Kids of all ages find fun, camaraderie, and inspiration in bringing us closer by the mile to the cure for cancer with donations to the Jimmy Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
