John Badalament, author of the acclaimed [amazon 1577316606 inline], will speak at Glen Urquhart School on Thursday, April 25. Badalament is a Harvard-trained educator with 20 years of experience as a teacher, dean of students, and counselor in school and clinical settings for children, teens, and adults. His work has been featured on ABC News, NPR, in Men's Health, Mom Magazine, L.A. Times, and the Boston Globe.
Badalament serves on the Honorary Board of the Year of Responsible Men, a partnership with The White House, and he has been recognized in the New York Times by the Family Violence Prevention Fund for his commitment to ending violence against women and children. His latest documentary project is entitled Gender Traps: How Marriage Problems Start In Kindergarten.
With a wealth of professional and personal experience, Badalament's keynote addresses and workshops are loaded with current research, innovative ideas, powerful stories, and takeaway activities. Badalament will speak at Glen Urquhart at 7:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted, with all proceeds to benefit Gain@GUS, a program that provides free academic and recreational summer enrichment to talented students in the city of Beverly and surrounding areas.
