Fresh Ideas Come From Fresh Air

 Shore Country Day School Beverly MA, Co-Ed Independent Day School PreK - 9

At Shore, we know that students are at their academic best when they have a balanced schedule that includes plenty of time outdoors.  Our new playground (opening September 2013) will incorporate both natural and structured spaces to engage children’s physical and creative natures with activities like digging, climbing, and imaginative play.  After recess, students will be refreshed and prepared to think and learn across the challenges of the Shore curriculum.

Please join us at our Spring Open House to learn first hand how the community embraces the elementary years. Explore the dynamic and exciting environment in which Shore students progressively develop critical thinking skills, become confident and joyful learners, and move forward into higher education and life as caring citizens.

No experience tells you more than a personal visit to a school.  Here are some great ways to learn about Shore Country Day School:

  • Meet our dynamic Head of School, Larry Griffin, as well as other school leaders;
  • Take a guided tour to hear and feel why Shore is such a special place;
  • Listen for the connections of teachers and classes;
  • Learn more about our newest building addition, the Lawrence A. Griffin Center for Creativity, scheduled to open in September, 2013;
  • Linger in the hallways and feel the energy;
  • Observe students’ faces in the classrooms and mingling with friends.

Explore the Science and Arts Integrated Learning (SAIL) program for Kindergarten students at Shore Country Day School.
SAIL provides children the opportunity to:

  • Make discoveries through hands-on investigations in science and art;
  • Utilize tools such as magnifying lenses, droppers, beakers, various art media, and children’s literature to complement the art/science interdisciplinary program;
  • Construct parts and models of various creatures of the night;
  • Develop a caring attitude toward living things in the oceans;
  • And celebrate Spring by constructing and blending art and nature projects.

Shore students gain confidence as speakers, writers, artists, and learners through a welcoming and supportive community.

When a child’s natural academic abilities are combined with Shore’s integrated curriculum, the outcomes are remarkable—exceptionally well-prepared learners, who are ready to continue their education at the area’s top secondary schools.
