When you're on the hunt for artist and craftman supplies, Artist & Craftsman Supply North Boston is the place to shop - it's the Home Depot for artist and crafters. If you are looking for paint, canvas, paper, fabric dyes, frames, kids art supplies and some of the most ridiculously fabulous and random gifts, look no further because this place has it all, and TONS of it. HUGE selection - even the walls are painted bright colors! It's well organized and clean.
I am not one of those new mothers who enjoys writing thank you notes but I realize that nothing takes the place of a thoughtful, hand-written note. I know I always get a thrill when I receive an envelope in the mail from a friend.
I received delightful gifts from friends and family when "B" was born and I wanted to send thank-you notes before time got away from me with a newborn in the house.
B has become interested in creating and displaying the artwork he's created this past year. For Valentines Day, Auntie Nancy gave him the and Princeton brush set and he uses it everyday. Naturally, he likes to display his masterpiece of the day and I like to promote the pride he has in his work, so I display it right away. My problem was that I was challenged to find a display method that worked.
Last year I sent out Minted's New Minibook Holiday Cards and they were a big hit. The 6 page card has a very cool grommet binding, gorgeous matte card stock and a bunch of clean, festive designs to choose from. It was a nice gift to send to extended family and friends.
I've just recently learned that kids need to build strength in their hands to be able to write and draw. At gym class with 'B', the instructor said that the jungle gym, trapeze ropes, and bar equipment were fabulous tools to increase kids hand strength.
B is a hands-on boy. He not only must participate in the the goings-on in our daily home life, but he must direct the activities too - this behavior began at about 18 months. Many of our daily activities involve doing things in the kitchen and I realized right away that if I was going to get anything done throughout the day, B needed to have a safe stool to lift him up to counter height - a chair was not going to work.
I'm planning a Halloween party this year and from past experience I've learned that the best way to keep kids happy, occupied and having fun at a party is to rent games, inflatables, and entertainers. Last year, I hired a company from Peabody Perfect Parties USA. Perfect Parties USA customer service and professional staff were outstanding and all of the equipment was clean and safe. I was very happy with their service and I plan to use them for my personal and corporate parties.
When B began nursery school this month, I wondered how I would manage keeping track of his belongings. If he removed his shoes, coat, or sweater, how were his teachers going to identify them as his? How could I make it easier on his teachers? I knew his cool back-to-school essentials had a good chance of ending up in the lost and found box. Then I found Mabel’s Labels Ultimate Back-to-School Combo set.
I noticed a few of my favorite local businesses offer discounts through a membership with The Bev Card. It’s like one of those books of coupons wrapped up into one plastic card. With new deals from North Shore businesses added all the time! Just show The Bev Card at a local participating business and save. The card can be used over and over again, unless a business mentions otherwise.
