Halibut Point State Park invites families to join them on a tide pool adventure! Halibut Point contains some of the best tide pools in New England. Join the Interpreter for a trip down to the rocky shore for some inter-tidal exploration. Learn about these interesting creatures living in a unique transitional environment. Join us on Saturday, August 24th, 11am-1pm, for Mazuri Wildlife Zoo Day with Wildlife Encounters Ecology Center & Farm School. We'll have some unique animals here and many will be interactive. This program will be both educational and fun!
Enjoy a summer afternoon at Grace Oliver Beach during low tide and discover the living wonders of the sandy coastline. Walk across the mudflats to Crowninshield Island, where we will search for tiny fish, hermit crabs, periwinkles, and other sea creatures living in this delicate habitat. Explore the five-acre island and its unusual variety of landforms, from granite rocks and tidal pools to sandy beach, salt marsh, and wooded hilltop.
Have you ever felt how soft a chickens feathers are or wondered what sheep say? Join us for our Saturday barnyard spend the day with some of Appleton’s Animals! Stop by anytime between 10AM – 12:30PM for fantastic farmyard meet and greets, a craft, learning stations and more! You’ll get to brush our goats, meet our bunnies, feed our chickens and card wool from our sheep.
Spend some time with your child reading with Reading Buddy, Zyla the Therapy Dog. Zyla is a beautiful and gentle collie who loves stories of all kinds, so come read to her. These sessions are great for building reading skills and helping readers of all levels gain confidence.
Curious Creatures will put on a free prestation at the Sawyer Free Library! Curious Creatures and their assortment of creatures has a great presentation for kids of all ages. A variety of animals will be part of this visit! This is a free event and everyone is welcome to attend.

Join us for an hour long program hosted by Rainforest Reptiles Shows to see all sorts of creepy crawlers like Snakes, Alligators, and even a bearded dragon!
