Book Sale Donations Wanted

Spring Cleaning? Book Sale Donations Wanted!

What a great time to clean out your closet, bookshelves and more. The Friends of the Manchester Public library are actively working on the upcoming booksale (Saturday July 30th) and welcome your clean, usable book donations.

Please bring these to the library in one or two bags or boxes at a time, this lets the volunteer group keep up with the flow for sorting, pricing, and storing. Your help is much appreciated!

Evening Art Workshop for Teens & Adults

Manchester Public Library hosts an Altered Books Workshop. Use worn books as a canvas for many art forms with books. Bring your own discarded or use one of supplied. Limited space available, please register promptly at the front desk of the Manchester Public Library, or 978-526-7711 or scollins@mvlc.org. A registered event with Cape Ann READS 2016.

Wikipedia: An altered book is a form of mixed media artwork that changes a book from its original form into a different form, altering its appearance and/or meaning.

All told with handmade puppets and involving three tales this will be a hit with the whole familiy! Made possible by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

the Friends of the Sawyer Free Library are providing an opportunity for everyone to trade in their unused fabrics and yarn. Bring them into the library and then join us on for a sale of the donated fabric and fiber.  All profits go to support SFL programs and projects.  Special: fest guests and hourly drawings.
