Join us for an open house featuring all our program offerings for preschool age children! The Whale Mobile will be on hand (giant inflatable whale with educational presentation about whales in our New England waters) plus we'll play sports games, get creative with an art project and dramatic play, and even learn about water safety. The event is free to the community.
The Children's Museum of New Hampshire is welcoming colossal canine Clifford The Big Red Dog As part of the Books Alive program. Museum staff will be reading a variety of Clifford stories written by Norman Bridwell throughout the day. The big friendly dog himself will be popping in and out to greet children, exchange a hug or high-five, and pose for photos. There will also be a variety of dog-inspired literacy, math and creative activities for children to participate in.

Flower bouquets are priced at $7 for a large size, $3 for a child size. Please visit the garden anytime, but pick-your-own is only available at the hours stated. Witness the rhythms and relics of New England's oldest working farm. Walk along bucolic meadows, planted fields, and see our grazing cattle before visiting the historic buildings. See the newly renovated, LEED certified, Old House Visitor Center and go behind the scenes in the dairy area, which is normally closed to the public.
On this excursion kids will be ponding with Joppa Flats Education Center at Mill Pond in West Newbury! Come explore the pond habitat and learn about the creatures that live there! We will be exploring the edge of a pond with safe shore access using nets, scoopers, strainers, cups, bowls and spoons. We’ll examine the water, leaf litter and plants with hand lenses and magiscopes. We’ll walk along the edge of the meadow near the pond looking for signs of life and spotting birds. We’ll give out binoculars to all participants. Each participant will take home coloring packets!
