As the sun warms the ground, you may come across a snake that slithers away before you have a chance to see it.  This is your chance to get up close to see and appreciate these creatures living in our yards and woodlands.  Rick Roth, local snake expert, and founder and Executive Director of Cape Ann Vernal Pond Team, will share some of his favorite snakes and discuss their lives, habits, and care.  Free for Dads today. Amanda Cook of the Writer's Center is offering a free series of writer's Workshops for all ages on Wednesdays in the Sawyer Free Public Library (Gloucester) These classes are open to all writers interested in working on a Picture Book entry for the Cape Ann Reads (Manchester, Essex, Gloucester, Rockport) project. What does composing music mean?  Through guided, interactive exercises, we will explore how ideas and emotions can be translated into sound, and how these elements can be combined and crafted into a short composition.
