This summer give your child an unforgettable camp experience: SummerQuest at the Crane Estate. Each day our campers venture forth to explore 2,000 acres of the most dazzling coastal landscape in New England. From Crane Beach to Castle Hill, your child will swim and kayak, sing songs and play games, make wonderful art, hike spectacular trails, and kick back with friends in the ultimate backyard. This all happens in the framework of place-based, experiential learning.
Our playground includes a “Castle” (the 1928 English-style mansion designed by David Adler); grassy slopes to run and roll down; a section of the Great Marsh with creeks and mudflats; miles of trails through the dunes; a magical Pine Grove with tall trees and a pine needle carpet; uninhabited islands in Essex Bay we can get to by boat, and a long stretch of sandy beach with tide pools to explore. It’s a child’s dreamscape, and the perfect outdoor classroom!
Together, we will investigate the beach, dunes, marsh, islands, lawns, gardens, footpaths, waterways, and historic structures of the Crane Estate with creativity and imagination, forging new friendships and discovering new places as we go. So join us this summer. The quest is just beginning…
