Teens are invited to a free The Cranks concert on the Ipswich River Walk! The Ipswich Recreation and Culture Department continues the IT’S (Ipswich Teen Saturdays) concert series featuring the Cranks! Other acts include the local talents Volume One & the Ipswich Horns. Come join the fun at the Riverwalk Patio on Saturday night at 8! The series will end with an outdoor movie at the Town Hall Athletic Fields on August 16. All ages invited, but parents should know this is an unsupervised event!
Curious about robots? A representative from iRobot will bring their robots to the library. Enjoy a presentation and hands-on demonstration of robots used both in the home and by soldiers and emergency response teams.

In this LEGO half-day program, LEGO builders come together to design and build their own motorized remote-controlled robots, using Lego® Mindstorms. In teams of two, they incorporate physics, mechanical engineering, and programming concepts while building the fastest, strongest, smallest, and largest robots to compete in a variety of challenges. Instructor Jo-Ann Gorrell, a mother of five sons, is a mechanical engineer, founder of Engineering Action, and a Lego-maniac.

The Bohemian Quartet was formed in 2005 by violinist and conductor Stan Renard with the idea of preserving the tradition, and indulging in the virtuosic playing style, of Romany, or “Gypsy” music, along with related Eastern European folk styles. Together they have made a commitment to the genre, and continuously aspire to perform it with both reverence and adventure. The group has a passion for the deep-rooted authenticity of the Romany tradition, as well as the ability to play this historic repertoire with extraordinary joie de vivre.
The summer solstice has been celebrated for centuries, with all sorts of traditions growing up around it. Join us on the longest day of the year and create your own traditions, by celebrating nature and being outside. After reading The Longest Day: Celebrating the Summer Solstice by Wendy Pfeffer, we will stroll along the sanctuary trails observing the delights of the season. Upon our return, we will create sun art and light the traditional bonfire. You are welcome to bring a picnic supper to enjoy after the celebration.

The musicians of Inkas Wasi will perform traditional Andean music and demonstrate the instruments such as the chakchas, palo de lluvia, siku, quena and charango. Inkas Wasi has provided concerts and educational programs to over 100 schools across the United State and is an active member of the New England Foundation of the Arts, The Maine Arts Commission, National Flute Association, North American Folk Music and Dance Alliance, among many more.
