Join Seaside Sustainability for a COASTSWEEP clean up of Singing Beach from 9-11am on Saturday, September 9th! What to Bring: Appropriate clothes for being on the coast, hat, sunscreen, water, snack, thin gloves optional, hand sanitizer, and a friend or two! Seaside Sustainability will supply everything you’ll need for the cleanups.
Join the Manchester Public Library for an afternoon of musical fun! The Didgeridoo Show is an energetic fusion of Australian music, comedy, character building, storytelling and audience participation. The didgeridoo has been played by Aboriginal Australians for at least 1500 years, and it's known for its otherworldly sound. You'll learn about Aussie animals, culture, unity and more ... all while moving and grooving to the pulsing rhythms of the didge. The Didgeridoo Show is interactive, educational, motivational and super fun for all ages!
Ages 11-16: Boston-based author/illustrator Jonathan Todd (the upcoming Scholastic graphic novel “Timid") is back, this time for a two-hour workshop on writing and drawing cartoons geared for laughs. Come out and "rook" the house (sorry, chess humor) with club organizers Marcel and Milla and their energetic middle school group of aspiring grandmasters! Registration required as space is limited. This program is for kids age 9-11. Registering for one week will sign you up for all the weeks in the series.
In Manchester, legion members and parade participants will assemble Monday at 8:30 a.m. at the Amaral-Bailey Post 113 for a brief seaside service. Wreaths and flowers will be dropped into the harbor in remembrance of those lost at sea. The parade then will move on to the Pleasant Grove Cemetery to salute fallen armed-forces personnel and formal Memorial Day Services.
The Dineh Tah’ Navajo Dancers are visiting Manchester from the Navajo Nation for the 155th commemoration of the Navajo Treaty. The agreement was signed by two Indian Peace Commissioners, Colonel Samuel F. Tappan of Manchester, (1831-1913) and General William Tecumseh Sherman (1820-1891). The Dancers will be acknowledging the life and legacy of Colonel Tappan and the key role he played in negotiating the 1868 Navajo Treaty.

Follow along step-by-step to create a magical star-filled night sky with silhouettes of a hillside and trees. It's amazing what you can create with four colors and some simple brush techniques! This event is appropriate for beginner painters ages 8-18.
