LEGO Advanced Mechanics Workshop

Kids will learn advanced Lego Mechanics at this Wenham Museum

In this LEGO half-day program, LEGO builders come together to design and build their own motorized remote-controlled robots, using Lego® Mindstorms. In teams of two, they incorporate physics, mechanical engineering, and programming concepts while building the fastest, strongest, smallest, and largest robots to compete in a variety of challenges. Instructor Jo-Ann Gorrell, a mother of five sons, is a mechanical engineer, founder of Engineering Action, and a Lego-maniac.

The LEGO Advanced Mechanics Workshop (Ages 8+) will focus on building complex mechanical structures using Lego gears, motors, and remote controllers. The projects will include building cars with suspension, rack-and-pinion steering, and four-wheel drive. Students will have the opportunity to customize their creations and build their own designs.
