Lantern Festival: Music & Light

Celebrate music and light on the upper green in Newbury!

Note: Due to the weather, the festival of light location has been changed to take place at the Library! The Newbury Town Library invites you to come celebrate music and light on the Upper Green! Karen K & The Jiiterbugs and the Plum Island Pans will play, and we'll end the evening with a lantern parade around the green. Pack a picnic, and grab some friends and family.

Amesbury Sports Park will be hosting the 1st annual Helicopter Egg Drop-Palooza fundraising event for Lucy's Love Bus!  30,000 eggs full of treats and prizes, helicopter rides, pony rides, Bunny Hop Dance-Off, face painting, egg dyeing and a performance by AHMIR will all be part of the celebration! While decorating the dolls, families can listen to the folk music from Russia and try the “matryoshka dance”. Foam floats, but does it make a good boat? How about a popsicle stick raft? We'll explore why boats float through building projects using a variety of household materials. We'll learn about the different types of boats in Gloucester Harbor and read some fun boat books as well.
