Park

Dix Park

This is the only park in Beverly Farms.  It serves as an important resource for the neighborhood, providing recreational and open space opportunities located near the Farms’ downtown area.  The park is below street level on Haskell Street with steps that lead visitors to the play structures and fields.   Due to its low elevation, flooding can often be a problem.  New equipment for pre-school and elementary school aged children was installed in 2001 and Beverly’s Department of Public Services made drainage improvements to alleviate some of the flooding issues in 2008.

Birch Plains Park

This area was once a fly ash pit and has since been remediated so that the contaminants no longer pose a threat to the health of the public or of Beverly’s drinking water supply.  The field has been capped and covered with clean fill and soil and is now one of the premier soccer field facilities in the area.  Birch Plains Park hosts games for Beverly’s youth soccer throughout the fall season.

Forest River Park

This area of about 25 acres is located along the Forest River between Lafayette Street (Route 114) and Leggs Hill Road. It includes forest, meadows, wet lands, estuary, salt marsh, glacially-scared outcroppings, small ponds and a small river. There are walking trails throughout.. The estuarine land is subject to tidal action and serves as a spawning ground for much marine life as well as home for waterfowl.  The Conservation area is remarkably variable, consisting of ledge outcropping sloping from a plateau at the cemetery to the Forest River at sea level.
