Now in its third year, Shalin Liu’s annual Free Live Opera Concerts continues this summer with Maestro Michael Recchiuti leading us on a journey through the operas of the greatest German composer of the twentieth century, Richard Strauss.

Misery Loves Company--Island Tours

Tour Misery Island with the Trustees of Reservations

Venture by shuttle boat to Misery Island from Manchester Harbor. Enjoy panoramic Atlantic views, cultural ruins Quest, or relax on the beach in the Island atmosphere! Walks available along beaches, footpaths, and stairways of historic buildings. Boat shuttle leaves mainland at 10AM, leaves Misery Island at 2:30PM returns to mainland 2:50.

The Flower Project

Appleton Farms is looking for teen volunteers to help with the Flower Project!

Appleton Farms needs volunteers for their Flower Project service learning program that engages youth in the planning, growing, cutting and arranging of flowers. The program culminates as participants deliver their arrangements weekly to area nursing homes and hospice patients. The program meets weekly in July and August.  Teens are encouraged to sign up for the whole Summer season.

Go canoeing at Harold Parker State Forest with the park interpreter!

Join the park Interpreter for a guided paddle on the pond. Call ahead for pre-registration. Bring insect repellant, water and sunscreen, and a life jacket if you have one. Must have prior paddling experience. Meet at the beach on Frye Pond. Under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Teens are invited to Ipswich River Walk for a concert featuring The Cranks!

Teens are invited to a free The Cranks concert on the Ipswich River Walk! The Ipswich Recreation and Culture Department continues the IT’S (Ipswich Teen Saturdays) concert series featuring the Cranks! Other acts include the local talents Volume One & the Ipswich Horns. Come join the fun at the Riverwalk Patio on Saturday night at 8! The series will end with an outdoor movie at the Town Hall Athletic Fields on August 16. All ages invited, but parents should know this is an unsupervised event!

Teens are invited to a free Gnarly Charlie concert on the Ipswich River Walk! The Ipswich Recreation and Culture Department will kick off IT’S (Ipswich Teen Saturdays) July 19 with a concert featuring Gnarly Charlie with special guest appearance by Truancy. Come join the fun at the Riverwalk on Saturday night at 8! The Cranks will follow with an August 2 show on the Riverwalk Patio. The series will end with an outdoor movie at the Town Hall Athletic Fields on August 16. All ages invited, but parent should know this is an unsupervised event!
