Usher in spring with Women in Action on Saturday, April 6th from 9:30-11:30a.m. by helping The Food Project start seedlings in the greenhouse at Glen Urquhart School in Beverly. Women in Action is dedicated to increasing access to nutritious food and physical activity for underserved children.  Last year, volunteers helped start 4,864 seedlings for The Food Project's North Shore farms in just one morning. The Upper School students at Shore Country Day School were challenged to calculate an estimate for the amount of concrete used to build the 2nd story floor and roof in the new building.

Leo Hogan, Project Superintendent of the Lawrence A. Griffin Center for Creativity, challenged the Upper School students to enter a contest -- Shore's Concrete Pour Contest. The objective was to find a reasonable and close estimate to the amount of concrete used to build the second story floor and the lower roof combined.
