Come carve pumpkins at Art Haven in Gloucester Massachusetts!
Celebrate Halloween with us! Carve a pumpkin to take home for halloween, have your face painted and take a Halloween Photos too.  This event is made possible by the generous support of the Institution for Savings for providing pumpkins for this year’s Pumpkin Carving Party. The Gloucester Area Astronomy Club invites you to their annual monthly meeting to discover the wonder of the night sky on Cape Ann!  There will still be a lot of astronomy going on! Stargazing will usually foolow the monthly meeting, which usually includes an astronomy presentation, and sometimes a special guest.  There is plenty of free parking, no dues or fees, and all are welcome. No special knowledge is required to have a great time.

Trick or Treating by hayride at Marini Farm in Ipswich is Safe and Fun!
Take a Hayride through our fields of wonder at Marini Farm in Ipswich. On every stop you will come across scenes of characters waiting to hand out Tricks and Treats. The hayrides will take place during the daylight hours.

Come to the Museum of Science rooftop for free stargazing and astronomy related
Tucked away on the roof of the Museum's parking garage, the Gilliland Observatory is a wonderful resource for our starry-eyed public. On clear nights, you can view stars, planets, the Moon, and other astronomical phenomena. On cloudy nights, tour the inside of the Observatory, and participate in astronomy-related activities run by our knowledgeable staff. Astronomy After Hours is the perfect place to kick off your weekend with your family.

Russel Orcahrds Wine and Apple Festival in Ipswich MA
Start holiday festivities off early, celebrating the Apples and Wine Festival, the first weekend in November. Enjoy all things apple, try our wine and enjoy live music all weekend.  Festivities will include Wine tasting*, Live music, Hands-on cider-pressing demonstrations, Make-Your-Own Apple Pie, Apple samples, Hayrides, as well as loads of apple goodies made fresh in the bakery including hot apple crisp and cider donut caramel sundaes.

 Proceeds from the Open Door Empty Bowl dinner benefit community programs.
The Open Door and the Ipswich Lions Club team up to host an evening of food and hospitality. The meal is simple—soup, bread and a cookie. Guests can choose and keep a soup bowl handcrafted for this community event. The bowl goes home as an unspoken reminder that “somewhere - someone’s bowl is empty” Tickets available at the door, costing $15 for adults and $10 for children under 10. Empty Bowl events are held nationally to generate awareness concerning hunger and to raise money for local hunger-relief programs. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Ipswich Open Door Food Pantry.

Nobuntu brings a cappella from Africa to the Rogers Center for the Arts in North Andover
Nobuntu is a “Five Part” A’cappella Vocal ensemble made up of young women from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. The name Nobuntu is an African concept that values humbleness, love, purpose, unity and family from a woman’s perspective. Their repertoire is a fusion of traditional Zimbabwean rooted music, Afro Jazz, Gospel and Crossover in pure voices with minimalistic percussion, traditional instruments such as Mbira and some dance movements. See them here in their ONLY Boston Area performance before they appear at Lincoln Center in NYC.
