Cape Ann Veteran Services host memorial day services at the Gloucester High School Auditorium starting at 9am. Join us as we honor and recognize the lives and legacies of seven Gloucester Veterans and present their surviving spouses with the Massachusetts Medal of Fidelity.
The Saugus Veterans Council Memorial Day Parade will step off from Anna Parker Playground at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 25, 2024 and proceed through Cliftondale Square, down Central Street to Winter Street and end at the Veterans Lot in Riverside Cemetery. Our Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at the Veterans Lot immediately following the parade. This year, our Parade and Ceremony will be broadcast live on WMEX Boston 1510 AM and 101.9 FM.
Warrior Weekend is a two day event that pays tribute to veterans through demonstrations and other events for the community. There will be all kinds of military hardware on site including tanks! Activities will include Rainforest Reptiles, martial arts demonstrations, reenactors, living history demonstration, touch-a-truck, food vendors and more!

The Gold Star Run for Honor is a 5k, 10k, kids fun run or 1 Mile Walk to honor the memory of a local Saugus veteran. Scott J. Procopio was on his second deployment as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, having previously served in Fallujah in 2005. He was killed in action as a result of a roadside bomb on the morning of April 2, 2006 in Ramadi Iraq.

Racers, runners, walkers or stroller pushers are invited to the Ipswich Town Hall bright and early on Thanksgiving Day for a 2.8 mile riverside run along Turkey Shore Drive and Labor in Vain Road. The 1.2 mile Kids Fun Run run starts at 8am.

Join us for a workshop on making Ukrainian Eggs! Presented by Kati Bourque, Head of Technical Services here at the Hamilton-Wenham Library. Learn a brief history of this tradition, then dive into creating your own Ukrainian Egg. This workshop session is reserved for teens in grades 6 through 12. Registration is required. All supplies will be provided. You will be using permanent dye and wax, so wear your getting messy clothes.
Back by popular demand! Kati Bourque will present a brief history on Ukrainian Easter Eggs and teach you how to create your own egg. All materials will be provided and you will go home with an egg that you made! This program is geared towards teens and adults, as you will be handling a raw egg, a lit candle, and permanent dyes.
