Saving the Sweetbay Magnolias

In New England you'll only find endangered Sweetbay Magnolias at Ravenswood.

Ravenswood Park supports the only population of the endangered Sweetbay Magnolia trees in New England, making them a rare treasure. Join The Trustees for Biodiversity Days: a four-day annual event in which people like you get to be scientists for the day.

You'll help to find, identify, and record plant and animal life in your community. Together, we'll unravel the mystery of the Sweetbay Magnolia story while we journey the magnolia swamp trails of our treasured community park.

  • Recommended for ages 10 and older.
