This park is located adjacent to Hurd Stadium. The major use of Cooney Field is for organized sporting events, particularly Babe Ruth baseball and Pop Warner football programs. The lighted field and spectator seating at Cooney Field make it a popular spot for players and spectators, both during the day and in the evenings. When sporting events are not in progress, it is occasionally used for informal athletic activities, such as cross-country skiing or jogging, by residents of the neighborhood.
