The La Vida Rock Gym invites parents to learn how to belay! Belaying refers to a variety of techniques used in climbing to exert friction on a climbing rope to ensure the safety of the climber and to ensure that a falling climber does not fall very far. If you have a child interested in rock climbing and find yourself nervously watching as your child climbs, take this course! It will enable you to become the belayer and you will be able to identify unsafe belaying proceedures when somebody else is holding the rope!
If you plan on joining us for the February Vacation Rock Climbing at La Vida, take this class to be more involved with your child's climbing experience!
