The ECTA Pan Ipswich Challenge is a ~20 mile walk or run fundraiser from the west end of Ipswich (Hood Pond) to the coast (Steep Hill Beach) that will highlight some of the best trails and open lands on the North Shore! Participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of $100 through pledges with the proceeds going to the ECTA.
Participants will start at Hood Pond off of Linebrook Road and cross through Willowdale State Forest, Bradley Palmer State Park , Greenbelt's Pingree Reservation, The Trustees' Appleton Farms, New England Biolabs, Maplecroft Trail then down Argilla Road to the Trustees' Steep Hill Beach at the Crane Estate.
For those who are unable to make the full 20 miles, we will have a 10-mile group starting at Appleton Farms Grass Rides at 11:15 am. All registrants will receive details about parking.
Please join us, or if you can't make the walk, please make a pledge to support the walk. Pledge online here: http://ecta27.camp7.org/donate
ECTA has been out clearing trails throughout the network, and all funds raised will go directly to making sure the network is cleared for the Spring Season.
Participants, friends and family are welcome to attend the grand finale celebration at Steep Hill Beach where we will be joined by the Ipswich Ale truck and will be serving up hamburgers and hot dogs. And don't miss out on the "Big Steak" raffle! Ed Dick of Barrett Realty will provide mid-route refreshments at Appleton Farms Grass Rides.
Everyone is invited to walk or run, but younger children will have a hard time finishing, even from the halfway mark due to the distances covered.
