Come to Spencer Peirce Little Farm for a program for homeschool families. October is Massachusetts Archaeology Month! Participants become archaeologists as they excavate a mock pit with actual tools of the trade and process reproduction artifacts in a field lab. Inside the museum, they explore building archaeology via trap doors. They analyze objects to learn about daily life at the farm over the last 300 years.
Peabody Essex Museum invites kids and families for days of fun and engaging events and activities during February vacation week! Come to the Museum Come join us for a week of exploration into our relationship with nature and discover new ways to become a steward of the earth. There will be drop in art activities, collaborative art projects, multisensory tours, artist demonstrations and more! The museum hosts a weeklong celebration (10am - 4pm daily) of Black History Month and the exhibition 'Jacob Lawrence: The American Struggle' through family-friendly art making, music and storytelling. You’ll get to dig into life on the farm and lend a helping hand brushing our goats, feeding our bunnies, making butter and taste testing in the education garden! Learn about how we grow our vegetables and see how good your senses are with Harvest Blanket. Meet our cows and learn how we milk them. We’ll start our morning with a quick craft before venturing out for some farm discovery and nature exploration.

After months of planning, CuriousCity, a pop up children’s museum opens Sunday, March 31st from Noon to 4pm! CuriousCity features 9 exhibits designed to be accessible and inclusive for children ages 2-10 with different “rooms” to inspire, engage and play in.
Maritime Gloucester hosts a Marine Halloween where kids will learn while having some Halloween fun! Discover the spooky side of Gloucester’s marine life! During this family-friendly educational program, we’ll be offering monstrous art projects and a chance to meet some live local sea creatures. Learn about scary deep sea creatures and the giant marine life of the distant past as we create a Sea Monster Chalk Mural.
Maritime Gloucester kicks off Shark Week with a great experiential learning craft that's as fun as it is educational! Visitors of all ages are invited to participate in the Shark Week Chalkquarium! Drop by for this free event to draw a "Great White Chalk" and other life-sized sharks and rays on the pavement around Maritime Gloucester! All of our regularly-scheduled drop-in programs will also be shark-themed until August 10.
