Abbot Public Library invites kids to a free showing of The Little Mermaid. The Abbot Public Library will feature the newest Disney live-action remake about a mermaid who makes a deal with the evil sea witch for a chance to experience life on land, ultimately placing her life and those she loves in jeopardy. This Halloween, Greater Beverly YMCA, Be Healthy Beverly, a youth substance use coalition, and the Regional Youth Prevention Network, is excited to present $1 Fright Night at The Cabot! Middle and High School students from across the North Shore are welcome to stop by between 4:30 and 6pm for some Halloween tricks and treats, before settling in with complimentary popcorn and soda to watch Gremlins on the big screen from 6-8pm.

Nor do they wing about carrying messages, despite the way they're depicted in the Harry Potter books. In fact, owls are probably more misunderstood than any other kind of bird. These are hunting birds, yet their sharp beaks and talons are partly hidden under feathers. Owl have more and softer feathers than other birds, and this unique plumage gives them a plump, rounded look.

In addition to the moon and Saturn we’ll be showing off an assortment of binary and double stars, nebula, clusters, and the Andromeda galaxy at the annual NSAAC star party at Battis Farm in Amesbury. Co-hosted with the Lake Gardner Improvement Association, we’ll have a number of volunteers with telescopes set up for visitors to look through. This event is part of Trails & Sails.
