North Shore Kid: Weekend Picks Jan. 14 - 16, 2011
It's here! The second annual You do not have access to view this node! With all the snow we received, the conditions are perfect to watch this exciting winter sport up close. The dog sleds run as close as six feet away with snow flying everywhere. This year the race begins at one of my favorite north shore locations Appleton Farms. Public admission is free and you might even get a change to take a picture with one of the sled dog teams so bring a camera.
Sledding is at it's best right now. Check out the best of Sledding Hills and Slopes North of Boston.
If skating is more your thing Skating on the North Shore
Owl Moon at Appleton Farms is an event I've been looking forward to for a while. We go owling in our neighborhood on mild nights, but it'll be fun to join a group of folks for a night of owling at Appleton Farms
This is the last weekend for the K’NEX Workshop exhibit at the Museum of Science. It's an interactive exhibit where kids and adults explore the science, math, technology and engineering behind amusement park rides. We enjoyed a few visits to the exhibit and are now devoted K'NEX engineers.
If you haven't secured a sitter yet, for an adult evening out, check out SitterCity to hook up with pre-screened babysitters.
Our best bets for weekend activities are listed on the North Shore Kid events calendar. Refer to the calendar often for more ideas on how to spend the weekdays and weekends with your kids on the north shore of Boston and beyond.
